Pai Fa

Pai means slap, but it's really very different from your regular slaps, it is applied with either a cupped palm or a hollow fist to various parts of the body and has several therapeutic effects.

Keep your wrist very relaxed. Keep your fingers and thumb together and lift your knuckles up slightly to form a upside down cup. Put the cupped palm over the treatment area. Lift your palm about 10 inches and let it fall with moderate force. Immediately let your hand bounce up again, hover for 2 seconds before you repeat the movement again. Do not use a lots of muscular strength. If you got it right, your palm should make a low hollow sound. If you hear a high slapping sound, you haven't got it yet.
